The Monolith is a golem created during the Great Depression in America to seek vengeance on behalf of a community of Jews.

Phil Winslade was the penciller/inker for most issues with Tomm Coker and Peter Snejbjerg acting as replacements for a total of four issues. The series was cancelled after issue #12 due to poor sales. The title presented two ongoing story-arcs, one which took place in the present day featuring the main characters of the Monolith and Alice Cohen II, and a second which took place during the Depression era 1930s, which focused on Alice's grandmother Alice Cohen I.
