Batman listens in to Felix Desidero's conversation with his coworker Willie, in which Desidero explains how the death of Arnie Silverberg led him to look into Bruce Wayne, while he thinks back to the events surrounding the death of Jason Todd. Nightwing suggests he might want to talk, and he joins him as he answers a call from Commissioner Akins. They catch Query and Echo, who are demanding the release of the Riddler. Nightwing promises Batman everybody will tell Desidero the same story, to which Batman says they should tell the truth. Nightwing doesn't think it's a good idea to tell Desidero about their vigilantism.

Desidero and Willie have dinner. Willie argues that Gotham City needs to think Bruce Wayne is a hero because he does so much for the city, and he warns him that he needs to keep that, and Bruce's influence, in mind as he pursues this case.

Batman returns to the Batcave where Aaron Langstrom steals another one of his sandwiches. Batman studies a fabric swatch from the bombing that killed Jason, only to suddenly realize something.
