The punk scene in this city is a carefully managed kingdom, with Heavy Parker as its self-appointed ruler. He fronts a hardcore band, distributes his own zines, and controls the visual landscape with his flyers. His reign seemed absolute until his girlfriend, Missy, left for college. The distance proved too great for his loyalty. With Missy out of sight, Heavy quickly filled the void with a new partner, restoring his sense of control. His equilibrium shatters when Missy returns, transformed into a genuine NYC punk and accompanied by a crew of real hardcores. They have come to challenge the authenticity of his entire domain. The air in the clubs now smells of stale beer and genuine contempt.
